Cougar Electronics Corp. was founded in 1968 and bought the General Instrument Selenium Rectifier Div. The company has manufactured selenium rectifiers since that time, originally in Brooklyn NY and presently in it’s New Haven, Connecticut location. Since 1996 when the present owners took over, Cougar has diversified into other manufacturing and also distribution of complementary products in the Power and High Voltage areas. We continue to service the Electronics industry with replacement Selenium rectifiers, relays, transformers, capacitors, resistors, Silicon modules, and DC power supplies. Our engineering staff can help customers with circuit design for both high voltage and high current applications. Cougar manufactures special rectifier assemblies. Our distribution of Relays, Resistors, Capacitors, Transformers and other Power Semiconductors helps to round out our product lines to allow customers a source for all their electronic component needs.
